Who we are
Anodos means “ascend with purpose.”
Modern society leaves us directionless, adrift in a neutral relativism which quietly steals what we and our children need most… purpose.
Anodos Academy is an academic center rooted in an Ancient Christian worldview. We guide children and parents on an upward journey toward Meaning, Truth, Beauty, and Goodness. We help people identify their unique God-given talents and put them to good use.
A true education isn’t merely information for the mind… but rather, formation of the whole person.
Don’t drift aimlessly, ascend with purpose.
Every learning opportunity we offer reflects our ancient Christian worldview
everyone has a worldview.
Imagine you and another person see the exact same thing, but you each perceive it differently…
That’s because each of us sees the world through different lenses. Each lens reflects our unique life experiences and influences. All of these lenses, when combined, form our ‘worldview.’
Much of our worldview, though, is hidden from us. We get it from culture, we get it from media, it’s all around us… in our schooling and through our relationships. These influences leave us with drastically different, and often harmful, beliefs and assumptions about the world.
A strong worldview protects us from depression and despair and positively affects our lives… yet, very few of us are intentional about forming our (and our children’s) worldview.
Have you thought about the worldview your local school is teaching your child? Have they thought about it?
Modern society doesn’t offer much of a worldview—just ‘neutrality.’
Neutrality is an illusion.
Without a positive vision, we risk drifting aimlessly through life.
don’t drift—Ascend.
The Anodos Worldview
1) the Seen and unseen
Our world consists of two parts: Seen and Unseen, Material and Spiritual, Earth and Heaven. We help students look beyond the surface and discover deeper meaning in the world around them.
“In the beginning, God created Heaven and Earth.”—Genesis 1:1
4) We are called to sacrifice
Life isn’t just about chasing comfort. God says we should live for something higher—something that lasts. We help students seek what matters most in life, even if it comes at a cost.
“Your kingdom come, Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.”— Matthew 6:10
2) Humanity’s Highest Identity
Humanity, the crown of creation, was created in the image of God, meant to reflect God. We help students embrace their role as image bearers, fulfilling a holy purpose.
"So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him."—Genesis 1:2
5) we are meant to ascend
Society says to “look within” to find ourselves. But our true identity is found in God. We help students to lift their gaze, strengthen themselves, and become who they were made to be.
“Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth."—Colossians 3:2
3) Bringing Heaven to EArth
Good and bad exist. We are called to discern between spirits. To seek the Truth, be the Good, and build the Beautiful. We help students become the hands and feet of God on Earth.
“But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves."—James 1:22
6) Striving together
No one should climb alone. We grow best when we grow together. We help students, families, and communities climb together in genuine fellowship and Love.
“As iron sharpens iron, so a man sharpens the countenance of his friend."—Proverbs 27:17
The Deeper Meaning
Behind the Anodos Brand
Virtues we embody
-
The most valuable things in life can not be seen. Truth, beauty, goodness, love — God himself. We must trust what we can not see. Without faith, life becomes meaningless.
-
Knowledge is important, but not sufficient. We must inform our minds and form our hearts toward ‘the good.’ Without wisdom, knowledge is wasted.
-
We stand firmly in the Truth and are brave enough chart our own path against the currents of culture. Without courage we can not ascend—we can not transcend.
-
As children of God, we are gifted with holy purpose—called to serve God and our neighbors, sacrificing what we ‘want,’ for what we ‘ought.’ Without sacrifice what’s lowest for what’s highest, we can not ascend.
-
We are called to greatness and confidently ascend; but we can’t do it alone. Every good thing about us comes from God and everything we accomplish is to the Glory of God alone.
-
Life isn’t easy. Our struggles are given to us for our benefit. We don’t become bitter, we stay determined. Like Christ, we seek to transcend suffering; to rise again and ascend.
